The House of Rohan ( Breton : Roc'han ) er en Breton familie av viscounts , senere hertuger og prinser i franske adelen , kommer fra lokaliteten av Rohan i Bretagne . Linjen deres stammer fra viscounts of Porhoët og sies å spore tilbake til den legendariske Conan Meriadoc . Opprinnelse

Historie

Familien Rohan giftet seg flere ganger med den bretonske hertugfamilien , siste gang i 1407.
Henry II av Rohan valgte Pontivy som hovedstaden i sin sak. Sjefen for det protestantiske partiet under Marie de 'Medicis regentskap Louis XIIIs regjeringstid, han var en av de største kapteinene i sin tid.

Flere medlemmer av Rohan- Guéméné familien flyttet til Sychrov Castle i Nord-Bøhmen, Østerrike , og ble naturalisert.
