Richard Alexander Hough ( / h aʊ / ; 15. mai 1922 - 7. oktober 1999) var en britisk forfatter og historiker som spesialiserte seg i maritim historie.

Personlige liv

Hough giftet seg med forfatteren Charlotte Woodyatt , som han hadde møtt da de var elever ved Frensham Heights School , og de fikk fem barn, inkludert forfatteren Deborah Moggach , barneforfatteren Sarah Garland og Alexandra Hough, forfatter av læreboka Hough's Cardio Respiratory Care .

Litterær karriere

Hough vant Daily Express Best Book of the Sea Award i 1972.

Etter at han forlot skolen, begynte han i Royal Air Force i begynnelsen av andre verdenskrig og fikk sin første flyopplæring på en flyplass ikke langt fra Hollywood . Senere fløy han orkaner og tyfoner .

Han skrev også under nom de plume Bruce Carter.
