Western Asiatic Games - Western Asiatic Games
De vestlige asiatiske Games var en multi-sport event for idrettsutøvere fra Vest-Asia. Spillene ble siden etablert som erstatning for Far Eastern Games , som ble avlyst på grunn av de politiske vanskeligheter mellom Kina og Japan . Spillene ble foreslått og organisert av IOC-medlemmet i India, Guru Dutt Sondhi .
Spillomfanget omfattet alle landene øst for Suez og vest for Singapore . Den første og eneste utgaven av spillene ble feiret i Delhi , India fra 27. februar til 3. mars 1934. En annen begivenhet ble planlagt holdt i Tel Aviv , Palestine Mandate , men lekene ble avlyst på grunn av den væpnede konflikten i regionen .
De asiatiske lekene ble senere lansert som en etterfølgerkonkurranse, og på et mer trangt regionalt nivå dukket de vestasiatiske lekene opp for å oppfylle posisjonen som et arrangement for vestasiatiske.

1934 Western Asiatic Games
The First Western Asiatic Games ble feiret i Delhi mellom 27. februar og 3. mars 1934 på Irwin Amphitheatre . Fire land — Afghanistan , Britisk India , Palestina-mandatet og Ceylon — deltok. Deltakerne konkurrerte i friidrett , vannsport , inkludert svømming og dykking , og felthockey .
Alle konkurrenter var mannlige, og ingen kvinner deltok i kampene. Delegasjonen fra Palestina Mandate inkluderte bare jødiske idrettsutøvere.
